AI products for the people software forgot.

AIM Impulse builds intelligent, humane software for families, elders, and the independent businesses that never got a product team of their own.

See what we're building

Why we exist

The best software of the last decade was built for the people who build software.

Everyone else got a phone tree, a forgotten password, and a screen full of buttons. We think the arrival of capable AI is the first real chance to change that. Not by adding a chatbot to the same old product, but by starting from the person and designing outward.

What we're building

Three ventures. One studio.

Each product starts with a handful of real people and a problem they already pay to solve badly.

Aura

A voice companion for people in their 80s and 90s.

Aura answers the phone, reads the mail, remembers the doctor's name, and calls the family when something feels off. No screens to learn. No apps to update. It simply listens and helps.

  • Voice-first, works on any landline or mobile
  • Family dashboard with gentle, opt-in alerts
  • Designed with our own parents as the first users

Ledger

Books that close themselves, for one-person companies.

Ledger watches the bank feed, categorizes every transaction against the rules your accountant actually uses, keeps a contemporaneous mileage log, and hands over a clean Schedule C in January instead of a shoebox in April.

  • Reads your CPA's rules, not a generic chart
  • Flags the line an auditor would flag first
  • Read-only access to your bank, always

Signal

A research desk for people who trade their own money.

Signal reads filings, earnings calls, and the tape overnight and briefs you in the morning in three sentences. It never places a trade. It makes sure you know what you are about to do before you do it.

  • Morning brief, one page, no noise
  • Every claim links to its source document
  • Hard rule: advise, never execute

The studio in motion

Thirty agents. One founder. A product a quarter.

Our studio runs as a small company of AI agents, each with a role, a budget, and a boss. Research, design, code, QA, and go-to-market run in parallel while a human decides what ships. Seventy seconds on what we build, how, and where.

How we work

Listen. Build. Ship. Repeat.

  1. 01

Five conversations before one line of code

Every venture opens with real people describing what they cannot do today, what they already pay for, and what quietly frustrates them. The transcript becomes the spec.

  2. 02

A working product in weeks, not quarters

The studio's agents build in parallel while a human owns every decision that touches a user. We ship a version to the first five people before we show it to anyone else.

  3. 03

Kill criteria written on day one

Each venture carries a number and a date that end it. We would rather stop something clean than let it drift. The ones that clear the bar get the studio's full weight.

Studio principles

Rules we don't negotiate.

Privacy is the product

Personal data stays on the device or in the family's own account. We do not train on it, sell it, or look at it.

A human can always reach a human

Every product has a path to a real person. No AI we build is allowed to be a dead end.

Advise, never execute

Money, medicine, and messages to loved ones get a human confirmation. Always.

Plain language, every screen

If our own parents cannot use it on the first try, it is not finished.

Small, profitable, independent

We fund ventures from revenue and keep the cap table simple. No growth-at-all-costs.

Show the source

Every claim an agent makes links to where it came from. Trust is earned one citation at a time.

Where we are

Built in Loudoun County, Virginia. Where the internet lives.

Ashburn's Data Center Alley, a few miles from our door, holds the largest concentration of data centers on Earth. A large share of the world's internet traffic crosses fiber that runs under Loudoun's farm roads, and the compute behind modern AI sits in the buildings beside them. Here it is not an abstraction. It is the neighbor.

We build in the shadow of that machinery, and the closeness keeps us honest about what it can and cannot do for a person at a kitchen table. Every venture's first users meet us here, in person, before anything ships.

Founder

Adam

Adam spent his career building enterprise technology for large organizations and watching the same tools fail the people at the edges: the parent who cannot reach a human, the solo owner doing books at midnight, the retiree drowning in notifications. AIM Impulse is the studio he started to build for them instead.

He runs the studio from Loudoun County with a company of AI agents and a short list of first users who tell him, bluntly, when something is not good enough yet.
